Update firefox on Ubuntu

run the following command to enable the " check for updates" option under help:

$ gksudo firefox

Now you can update firefox under Ubuntu.

Firefox: Search Google from URL

To be able to search google from the URL in Firefox you need to modify the about:config section

Type "about:config" in the url

In the filter field type "keyword.url"

replace with:
http://www.google.com/search?q=
